A Message from Dr. Jane Honeycutt
Dear Honors Students,
Joining Northeast State Honors is not only a recognition of your academic excellence, but an opportunity to join a supportive community! You will certainly become more competitive for transfer scholarships and employment opportunities, but perhaps more importantly, you will join a community of supportive faculty and peers. Northeast State Honors classes offer you a safe space to explore ideas and concepts with other highly motivated students like yourself! Honors students support one another, naturally forming study groups, so you are never on your own. Our honors faculty are some of Northeast State’s most innovative and student-centered instructors, and they will be happy to discuss their individual courses with you. You will find in the honors community a challenge to be the best thinker that you can be.

As an honors student, your interests are not limited to the classroom. You can serve as a paid mentor or mentor/tutor. You can become active in the newly formed Honors Student Association, even serve as a leader. HSA members will help the Northeast State Honors Advisory Board respond to honors student needs, and plan events in the Honors Institute specifically designed for honors students.

Northeast State Honors is thrilled to have you onboard and is looking forward to nurturing you as you achieve your goals. Never hesitate to stop by my office, L303A, to let me know how we can better serve you.
All the Best,
Jane
